On Aug. 23, 2006 they stopped by South West Terminal on their cross Canada trek.


On May 1st, 2006, four men left Halifax, Nova Scotia to complete an incredible journey. They are skateboarding across the country raising funds and awareness for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

The journey is expected to finish in Vancouver, BC, sometime this September. Their goal is to, not only to bring awareness to the tens of thousand of people affected by breast cancer, but also to raise one million dollars for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. 12/05/2005 - SWT Port of Vancouver Tour



A number of South West Terminal Board Members along with Mark Schell (CEO), Trent Weber (Director of Transportation and Marketing) and Rick Spetz (Grain Operations Mgr) toured the Port of Vancouver from Dec 5th to Dec 9th.

The trip was organized by Robert Chapman (Farm Business Rep) from the Canadian Wheat Board and was also attended by other local area producers. The tour was quite comprehensive with unfettered access to nearly all areas of the port. All participants felt that the tour was very informative and provided a unique view into many of the challenges faced by individuals working in the Port of Vancouver.

11/03/2005 - SWT Loads 1st Cars in Hazenmore


South West Terminal has started loading Producer Cars in Hazenmore. It has been over 20 years since a car was loaded in Hazenmore using the old elevators. The local elevators are long gone now and we are excited about bringing the ability to move local grain using a local facility once again.

On October 6th South West Terminal hosted a visit by 7 Quality Control Managers from Japan’s most prestigious and largest milling companies as well as the Japanese Flour Milling Association. The Quality Control Managers were at South West Terminal as part of a Canadian Grains Institute course looking at the quality of Canadian wheat and durum.
